Reading striker Adam le Fondre has admitted that he was surprised about how quickly it took him to make an impact in his side's victory over Newcastle United on Saturday afternoon.
Le Fondre came off the bench in the second half to score two goals in six minutes and secure three crucial points for the Royals.
"I've come off the bench regularly and scored goals but I didn't think I would get one so quickly," the 26-year-old told BBC Sport. "I am buzzing for the team and myself.
"The win can be a massive springboard for us. We've done well since Boxing Day and now we've transformed it into a win away from home."
Reading are now 18th in the Premier League.
