Barcelona boss Xavi has landed in Miami after resolving an administrative problem, so he will be in the dugout for Saturday's El Clasico with Real Madrid.

The 42-year-old was unable to make the trip alongside his players and staff last weekend due a problem which resulted from his period in charge of Al-Sadd.

According to Tv3, Xavi needed special permission to enter the United States, having travelled to Iran several times during his time in charge of the Qatari outfit.

The report claims that the Spaniard has now solved the issue and has since made the trip to Miami, meaning that he will be present for Saturday's pre-season friendly with Real Madrid.

Barcelona opened their tour of the United States with a 6-0 victory over Inter Miami, with new signing Raphinha scoring once and providing two assists in an impressive debut.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Ansu Fati, Gavi, Memphis Depay and Ousmane Dembele were also on the scoresheet for Barcelona in Florida.

The Catalan side have now played twice this summer, having opened their preparations for the 2022-23 campaign with a 1-1 draw against Olot on July 13.

Barcelona will play three more matches in the United States, facing Real Madrid, Juventus and the New York Red Bulls before taking on Pumas in the Joan Gamper Trophy on August 7.

The La Liga side will then begin their domestic campaign against Rayo Vallecano on August 13, while they will also face Real Sociedad and Real Valladolid in the opening month of the 2022-23 campaign.

Barcelona have been busy this summer despite their financial issues, bringing in Franck Kessie, Andreas Christensen, Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha.

The Catalan outfit are under pressure to make a big sale this summer, but Frenkie de Jong is still believed to be resisting a switch to Manchester United, who have allegedly agreed a transfer fee for the Dutchman.

Ahead of Saturday's El Clasico, Raphinha was quoted as saying that Barcelona were "better than Real Madrid".

However, the Brazilian has insisted that he was misquoted, posting a video where he said that he was "looking forward" to taking on Carlo Ancelotti's side.

"We always want to play a Clasico and score against Real Madrid. I'm really looking forward to playing these games because for me they are the best," said the Brazilian.

Barcelona finished second in La Liga last season, 13 points behind the champions Real Madrid, while they were knocked out in the last-16 stage of the Copa del Rey, group stage of the Champions League and quarter-finals of the Europa League.
