Sports Mole rounds up Real Madrid's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Sunday's La Liga clash with Valencia.

Real Madrid will be looking for their fifth straight La Liga win when they travel to Valencia on Sunday night.

Los Blancos remain second in the table heading into the next set of fixtures in Spain's top flight, but they are level on points with leaders and bitter rivals Barcelona.

Zinedine Zidane's side have won their last four in the league, while they rounded off their Champions League group-stage campaign with a 3-1 victory away to Club Brugge on Wednesday night.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Madrid's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the contest.

Marco Asensio

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Marco Asensio faces a battle to play again this season after suffering a serious knee injury during the team's preparations for the 2019-20 campaign. A timeframe on his return has not yet been set by the club.

James Rodriguez

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

James Rodriguez is expected to miss the remainder of 2019 after suffering a knee injury during a training session with Colombia in November. The attacker was allowed to join up with his country despite his injury problems in recent months but is now facing an extended period on the sidelines.

Lucas Vazquez

Status: Out
Type of injury: Toe
Possible return date: Unknown

Lucas Vazquez has missed Madrid's last five matches after suffering a fractured toe during a gym session last month. The Spaniard is not expected to return to training until after the winter break in Spain.

Eden Hazard

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: Unknown

Eden Hazard will be on the sidelines for the remainder of the year after being diagnosed with an "external micro-fracture" of his right ankle. The Belgium international will therefore miss El Clasico on December 18, and it remains to be seen when the summer arrival from Chelsea will be available to return.

Marcelo

Status: Out
Type of injury: Calf
Possible return date: Unknown

Experienced defender Marcelo has had his fair share of injury problems this season, and the Brazil international is now facing a battle to return before 2020 having picked up a calf injury.

REAL MADRID'S SUSPENSION LIST

Ferland Mendy

Return date: December 18 (vs. Barcelona)

Madrid will be without the services of Ferland Mendy following his red card against Espanyol last weekend, handing Zidane a problem at left-back with Marcelo on the treatment table.
