Bayern Munich defender David Alaba has reportedly agreed a five-year contract with Real Madrid.

The Austria international has spent the majority of his career as a key player at the Allianz Arena, helping Bayern to multiple trophies on the domestic and European scene.

However, despite his status at the Bundesliga giants, the 28-year-old has opted to take on a new challenge with his contract due to expire at the end of June.

According to Sky Deutschland journalist Max Bielefeld, Alaba has indicated that he will pen a long-term deal at the Bernabeu in the near future.

While Barcelona had also been interested in signing the versatile player, it is claimed that the Catalan outfit are now out of the running.

Alaba has remained as a regular for Bayern throughout this season, making 41 appearances in all competitions.
