Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane is reportedly considering a move for Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos.
Although the Frenchman ideally wants Madrid to play with a 5-3-2, it is believed that he is not confident that either Nacho or Eder Militao are suitable partners for Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane in such a system and he is therefore prioritising the addition of a new central defender.
Reports in Spain suggest that the Brazilian is one of Zidane's top targets, with the World Cup winner watching hours of tape to assess the 25-year-old's capabilities.
The report also suggests that while a deal would cost Madrid a minimum of €50m (£43.2m), PSG would be reticent to sell because they believe the former Roma defender is coming into the peak of his powers as a player.
Since moving to the Parc des Princes in 2013, Marquinhos has scored 20 goals for the French champions and made more than 231 appearances in all competitions.
