Spanish centre-back Inigo Martinez has signed a new four-year contract extension with Real Sociedad.
Liverpool were strongly linked with a move for the 24-year-old last summer, and it is understood that the Reds failed with a £15.5m offer.
A number of clubs were believed to be preparing summer bids with Martinez's previous deal due to expire at the end of next season, but the defender has penned a fresh contract that will run until 2021.
Martinez's buy-out clause has been raised from £23m to £31m, meanwhile, which will protect Sociedad's interest in the Spaniard.
It is believed that Martinez has joined the likes of Carlos Vela and Asier Illarramendi as one of the top earners at the Anoeta.
