Russia manager Fabio Capello has said that he was pleased with his side's comeback in their 1-1 draw with South Korea.
When Igor Akinfeev fumbled Lee Keun-Ho's shot in the 68th minute, it seemed as though the Koreans would go on to wrap up a victory, but Aleksandr Kerzhakov scored with his first touch after appearing as a substitute to ensure that the Russians did not leave their World Cup 2014 opener empty handed.
Capello - who saw in his 68th birthday during the game - was particularly pleased with the way his side fought back so quickly after going a goal behind.
"After the goal they scored it is not easy to react," he told BBC Sport.
"The players' reaction was really good. They had two chances to score the second, but that is football.
"Aleksandr Kerzhakov is a fantastic player, he always has chances to score goals."
The result means that Russia and South Korea are tied on one point apiece and sit two points behind Group H leaders Belgium, who beat Algeria 2-1 yesterday.
