Paul Lambert: 'Scotland are capable of beating Germany in a one-off game'

Paul Lambert says that Scotland are capable of beating Germany in a "one-off game" as they continue their preparation for their crucial Euro 2016 qualifier.

Paul Lambert has said that Scotland are more than capable of beating Germany in a "one-off game".

Gordon Strachan's side are in need of a positive result against the world champions following their defeat to Georgia on Friday.

Scotland have slumped into fourth in their qualifying group as a result, but Lambert says that they have to move on from their latest blow.

"Our lads are just going to have to put what they have been through to the back of their minds, get it out of the road and try not to let it hamper them," Lambert is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail.

"I don't think it would have happened to Germany, though. There's no danger of them taking their eye off the ball. I saw that when I watched them the other night.

"Will they be complacent? No chance. And they'll love coming here. Playing in front of 50,000 will be fine for them because they're all used to playing in front of a big noisy crowd in every game. But, in a one-off game, of course we can win."

Scotland have won three of their seven matches in the qualifiers and sit one point behind third-placed Republic of Ireland.
