Graeme Souness: 'Scotland must beat Georgia'

Graeme Souness claims that Scotland must beat Georgia on Saturday if they want to keep their Euro 2016 qualification hopes alive.

Former Scotland international Graeme Souness has claimed that the team must beat Georgia this weekend if they want to keep their Euro 2016 hopes alive.

The Scots opened their qualifying campaign last month with a gallant 2-1 defeat away to world champions Germany.

Despite Scotland's status as favourites heading Saturday's match at Ibrox, Souness expects Gordon Strachan's side to claim the three points.

"They've got to win," he told Sky Sports News." "With Georgia losing to Ireland last time out then hopefully they'll be feeling sorry for themselves, but with Ireland winning it puts a little bit of pressure on Scotland to win.

"They should go into the game with encouragement because they played well against Germany last time. They started expecting the worst and grew into the game."

Scotland's last appearance at a major tournament was at the 1998 World Cup in France.
