Vicente del Bosque: 'Spain are on the right path'

Spain boss Vicente del Bosque says that his team are "on the right path" after they eased to a 3-0 victory over Turkey at Euro 2016.

Spain boss Vicente del Bosque has suggested that his team will not get carried away after their impressive display in the 3-0 victory over Turkey on Friday night.

Alvaro Morata netted either side of a Nolito strike as the defending champions confirmed their place in the knockout stages of Euro 2016, but Del Bosque has insisted that their full attention will be on facing Croatia rather than anticipating a run to the latter stages of the competition.

The long-serving coach is quoted by BBC Sport as saying: "From 2008 to now, we have lost some of the most important players in the history of Spanish football. We are on the right path but we haven't won anything yet.

"This is the group stage. If a team stays back in their own half and defends, that is better for us. We prefer to play in the opponents' half.

"We were effective in front of goal. I am not thinking about the next round - we will try to get the three points against Croatia and we will choose the team that can do that."

Spain require a point from their final group fixture to guarantee top spot in Group D.
