How Manchester City could line up against Tottenham Hotspur

Ahead of Saturday's Premier League game between Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur, Sports Mole looks at how the home side could line up at the Etihad Stadium.

Manchester City head into their Premier League meeting with Tottenham Hotspur having already established top spot in the standings.

While just one game has been played, Pep Guardiola will take satisfaction from his team leading the pack courtesy of a 5-0 triumph over West Ham United last weekend.

The Spaniard will attempt to ensure that complacency does not become a factor throughout this season, although that is unlikely to enter the mindset of his players ahead of a clash with one of their direct title rivals.

Here, Sports Mole predicts how City could line up for Saturday's fixture at the Etihad Stadium.

Out: Leroy Sane (knee), Benjamin Mendy (knee)
Doubtful: Fernandinho (lack of fitness)

Guardiola is likely to have the same set of players to choose from, with Leroy Sane and Benjamin Mendy both sidelined with knee injuries and Fernandinho behind the rest of the group in terms of fitness.

However, the Spaniard has a number of selection dilemmas, most notably whether to hand a recall to Sergio Aguero in place of Gabriel Jesus, who has impressed in his two outings this campaign.

Guardiola also finds himself in a predicament regarding Riyad Mahrez as a result of the Algeria international arguably being the star of the show against the Hammers.

Nevertheless, Bernardo Silva will likely be restored to the team having only been named as a substitute for the fixture at the London Stadium.

Joao Cancelo - a summer arrival from Juventus - also finds himself in contention, although he is unlikely to be introduced for his debut for a game of this magnitude.

The defence should remain the same, with Oleksandr Zinchenko being given an opportunity to improve on a shaky performance in England's capital.
