How Tottenham Hotspur could line up against Watford

Ahead of Wednesday's Premier League game between Spurs and Watford, Sports Mole looks at how Mauricio Pochettino's side could line up at Wembley Stadium.

Tottenham Hotspur return to Premier League action against Watford with the need to quickly overcome two disappointments in cup competitions.

The North London outfit had held an advantage heading into the second leg of their EFL Cup semi-final with Chelsea, only for the Blues to eventually prevail on penalties.

Mauricio Pochettino would have hoped to see his team produce a positive response against Crystal Palace in the FA Cup on Sunday, but a below-par display led to a 2-0 defeat at Selhurst Park.

The Argentine has a number of selection issues ahead of Wednesday's game, and here Sports Mole looks at how Spurs could line up at Wembley Stadium.

Out: Harry Kane (ankle), Dele Alli (hamstring), Ben Davies (groin)
Doubtful: Moussa Sissoko (knee), Son Heung-min (fatigue)

Spurs are boosted by the return from international duty of Son Heung-min, but Pochettino must decide whether to throw the South Korea international straight back into the team.

A more likely scenario could be to use Christian Eriksen, Erik Lamela and Lucas Moura in the final third, with Son and Fernando Llorente being kept in reserve.

Moussa Sissoko should be available after a knee injury, but the France international may be left on the bench with Eric Dier and Harry Winks potentially being used in the middle of the park.

Danny Rose played no part at the weekend but should take his place at left wing-back, with Ben Davies still ruled out with a groin injury.

Hugo Lloris and Toby Alderweireld will return after missing the game at Palace, but Dele Alli and Harry Kane are still a number of weeks away from rejoining the squad.
