Tottenham Hotspur's Dele Alli: 'I will not stop playing with aggressive streak'

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli insists that he will not lose his aggressive nature on the pitch.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli has insisted that he will not let go of his aggressive nature on the pitch.

The 19-year-old, who joined the club from MK Dons, has had an impressive first season with Spurs, having contributed seven Premier League goals so far.

The teenager has shown signs of anger on the pitch, though, as he was booked for appearing to kick Fiorentina's Nenad Tomovic in a Europa League match recently and was accused of stamping on Yohan Cabaye during a game against Crystal Palace.

Despite his aggressive tendencies, Alli has insisted during an interview with FourFourTwo magazine that he will not change.

In the April issue, Alli said: "As a younger player coming through, particularly in League One, you get a lot guys trying to kick you. A lot of the senior players told me I needed to be tough.

"Sometimes I get carried away with things, but I'm 19 and I've still got a lot to learn. [Mauricio Pochettino and I] have had a few chats about it.

"Hugo Lloris has been a big influence on me at Tottenham and he's spoken to me about it, too. He told me not to let that aggressive side fall out of my game, so I'm just going to keep being myself."

Spurs have the chance to go to the top of the league table tonight with a win over West Ham United at Upton Park.
