Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has reportedly held talks with Ange Postecoglou regarding his future at Tottenham Hotspur.

Soon after the end of the season, Spurs confirmed that they had appointed Celtic boss Postecoglou as their new head coach on a long-term contract.

The Greek-Australian is now tasked with reshaping a squad that could only finish in eighth position in last season's Premier League, subsequently missing out on European qualification.

One of his priority tasks is to resolve the goalkeeping situation at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with Lloris and Fraser Forster both at the latter end of their careers.

The future of Lloris has come under the most scrutiny, the 2018 World Cup winner having made a number of errors between the sticks and now seemingly keen to leave the club.

Lloris has publicly acknowledged that he is open to a new challenge this summer, particularly at a time when former club Nice are said to be in the market for a new number one.

According to L'Equipe, the Frenchman has already met up with Postecoglou to discuss whether he will be required for 2023-24.

As well as interest from his homeland, it is alleged that the 36-year-old has been provided with a proposal from a Saudi Arabian club to weigh up over the coming weeks.

The report adds, however, that Lloris is currently reluctant to entertain a switch to the Middle East, leaving open the possibility of remaining in North London.

Nevertheless, that would create a scenario where Postecoglou would have to consider how to handle a situation where it is plausible that he would have three senior goalkeepers on his books.

Spurs have allegedly agreed personal terms with David Raya ahead of trying to negotiate a fee for the Spain international with London rivals Brentford.

The Bees are said to be against cashing in on Raya unless they receive a bid in the region of £40m, a valuation that Spurs are yet to meet.

Raya has acknowledged that he is keen to leave Brentford for a bigger club, indicating that he will give no consideration to extending his contract which has just one year left to run. body check tags ::
