Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly seen a bid for Nicolo Zaniolo turned down by Roma.

The 23-year-old has been a regular for his Italian club during the 2022-23 campaign, making 17 appearances in all competitions, contributing two goals and three assists in the process.

Zaniolo has entered the final 18 months of his contract in Rome, though, and there is currently a host of speculation surrounding his future.

Tottenham are said to be long-term admirers of the Italy international, and according to Sky Italia, the Premier League club placed an offer on the table for the attacker.

The report, though, claims that Roma rejected the 'unsatisfactory' bid, with the Serie A giants valuing Zaniolo in the region of £35m.

Jose Mourinho's side are said to be willing to sell the attacker this month providing that their asking price is met, while a loan deal with an obligation to buy is also an option.

Zaniolo arrived at Roma from Inter Milan in 2018, and he has represented the Yellow and Reds on 128 occasions in all competitions, contributing 24 goals and 18 assists in the process.

Tottenham have also been linked with Leandro Trossard, but the Belgium international is now seemingly on the verge of joining Arsenal from Brighton & Hove Albion.

Meanwhile, Antonio Conte's team have allegedly been offered the chance to sign Villarreal forward Arnaut Danjuma, who is being heavily linked with a return to the Premier League.

Tottenham are yet to make a January signing, but Sporting Lisbon defender Pedro Porro remains a leading target, with the club hopeful that a deal can be agreed before the end of the month.

Harry Kane has again been in strong goalscoring form for Spurs this season, finding the back of the net on 17 occasions in 27 appearances in all competitions.

However, Son Heung-min has only managed six goals, while the next duo in the list are Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur, who have struck five times each.

Tottenham are currently fifth in the Premier League table, five points behind fourth-placed Newcastle United, ahead of Thursday's trip to the champions Manchester City. body check tags ::
