Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly close to completing the signing of Destiny Udogie.

The 19-year-old spent last season on loan at Udinese from Hellas Verona before making the move permanent this summer.

Despite joining Udinese for £3.6m only a few weeks ago, a recent report indicated that Tottenham had agreed a deal with the Serie A club for Udogie.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the transfer is set to be completed next week, with the two clubs expected to hold talks so the move can be finalized.

Udogie played no part in his club's 2-1 friendly win over FeralpiSalo on Saturday, although the defender is expected to return to Udinese on a loan deal once the transfer with Spurs is completed.

The Italy Under-21 international - who contributed five goals and three assists in 37 appearances for Udinese last season - is set to become Tottenham's sixth signing of the summer.
