Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly entered the race for Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse.

Spurs have already strengthened in a number of areas this summer, recruiting goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, playmaker James Maddison and winger Manor Solomon.

The North London club have also signed Dejan Kulusevski and Pedro Porro on permanent deals following their respective loan spells.

Tottenham are still expected to make further additions this summer, and they could be forced to bolster their midfield options with several players heading towards the exit door.

Tanguy Ndombele is believed to be closing in on a move to Galatasaray, while Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has been linked with Spanish giants Atletico Madrid.

The midfielder played a crucial role in the Saints' opening day win against Sheffield Wednesday on Friday, providing the assist for Che Adams's late winner.
