Sevilla are reportedly interested in signing Barcelona centre-back Clement Lenglet on loan.

Lenglet, who is under contract until June 2026, is expected to leave the Catalan giants before the end of the summer transfer window.

The Frenchman has been linked with a return to Tottenham Hotspur after making 35 appearances for the North London club during a loan spell last term.

However, Lenglet is also attracting interest from another former club, with Marca reporting that Sevilla are looking to secure the defender on a loan deal.

The report suggests that Lenglet's salary is proving to be a stumbling block, and Barcelona may have to contribute to his wages to make the deal happen.

Lenglet previously spent 18 months as a Sevilla player, featuring in 73 competitive games, before joining Barcelona in July 2018.

Al-Nassr made an approach for Lenglet earlier this summer, but the 28-year-old rejected the chance to join the Saudi Arabian club.

Elsewhere, newly-promoted Luton Town are reportedly interested in signing Newcastle United midfielder Isaac Hayden.

The newly promoted side have experienced a busy transfer window, recruiting as many as 10 players, including Mads Andersen, Tahith Chong, Ross Barkley and Jacob Brown.

Rob Edwards is still keen to bolster his squad ahead of Friday's transfer deadline, with the Luton boss looking to add to his defensive options.

According to the Daily Mail, Luton are considering a move for Hayden after identifying the Newcastle defender as a potential target.

Hayden, who joined the Magpies from Arsenal in 2016, has three years left to run on his contract, but Newcastle are prepared to sanction a departure.

Having been deemed surplus to requirements by Eddie Howe, Hayden has been training with the club's Under-21 side.

Hayden has not played for Newcastle since December 2021 and spent last season on loan at Championship club Norwich City.

Meanwhile, Leeds United are reportedly set to hold fresh talks over a deal for Genk forward Joseph Paintsil.

The Yorkshire club have been trying to rebuild their squad following a number of departures, and they are still looking to make further additions before Friday's deadline.

Although they recently signed striker Joel Piroe from Swansea City, Leeds are seemingly still keen to strengthen their forward line.

They have identified Painstil as a potential target after the striker impressed during the 2022-23 season, scoring 18 goals in 29 appearances.

Leeds' hopes of signing the Ghana international received a setback when their initial bid was turned down by Genk.

However, Leeds are still hoping to sign the 25-year-old, with Football Insider reporting that they are set to hold new talks with Genk over a deal.

Paintsil, who is under contract until June 2026, is understood to be keen to complete a move to Elland Road before Friday's transfer deadline.
