Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Sasa Kalajdzic may reportedly link up with Eintracht Frankfurt on a six-month loan deal.

On Thursday evening, the Premier League outfit confirmed that Fabio Silva had agreed to join Rangers on an identical basis in a bid for first-team football.

That move came as no particular size after head coach Gary O'Neil had revealed on the previous evening that Wolves would enter the January market for a new striker.

While Kalajdzic was name-checked by O'Neil on that occasion, the lack of substitute outing from the Austria international in recent matches has appeared to hint that a temporary move could be in fruition.

According to Sky Sport Deutschland reporter Philipp Hinze, the 26-year-old is eager to play on a regular basis ahead of potentially representing Austria at Euro 2024.

Although Kalajdzic has played an important role in Wolves' season, scoring winning goals at Everton and Bournemouth, he only has 159 minutes of Premier League football under his belt.

Furthermore, he has not featured since a brief substitute outing versus Nottingham Forest on December 9, but it appears that he is not short of admirers.

Florian Plettenberg, also of Sky Sport Deutschland, claims that Kalajdzic - formerly of Stuttgart - would jump at the opportunity to move to Frankfurt for the remainder of the season.

Frankfurt have endured a mixed campaign thus far, winning just six of 16 Bundesliga fixtures, yet they sit in sixth position in the standings and remain in contention for Champions League qualification.

Dino Toppmoller also has ambitions to win the Europa Conference League, with Frankfurt facing a tough last-32 tie against Belgian outfit Union SG.

Plettenberg adds that Frankfurt are also close to securing a deal for Viktoria Plzen striker Rafiu Durosinmi, who was first linked with Wolves in October.

With Hwang Hee-chan due to link up with South Korea at the Asia Cup after Saturday's game with Everton, it is unclear how Wolves may handle the interest in Kalajdzic.

If they give the green light to an exit at the start of the January transfer window, they will effectively be three attacking players light ahead of the FA Cup third round tie at Brentford the following Friday. body check tags ::
