Yeovil Town secure their second win in a row as they beat eight-man Blackpool at Huish Park thanks to a first-half goal from John Lundstram.

Yeovil Town secured back-to-back wins in the Championship as a first-half strike from John Lundstram was enough to beat eight-man Blackpool at Huish Park.

The visitors had a great chance to take the lead when Thomas Ince was played through on goal with a through-ball that went right through the middle of the Yeovil defence, but he could only fire his effort wide of the target.

He would be made to pay for this spurned chance as the home side took the lead when a free kick from the left was launched into the Blackpool area and pinballed around before it landed at the feet of John Lundstram, who poked an effort into the bottom corner.

Paul Ince's side tried to respond and came very close to getting a leveller when Neal Bishop saw his shot well saved by Chris Dunn and from the resulting corner Isaiah Osbourne headed just past the post from inside the six-yard box.

After half time, Blackpool tried to take control of possession of the game and they worked the ball nicely around the park before the it came to Dan Gosling on the edge of the area, but his low effort was saved by Dunn.

However, Yeovil came close to doubling their lead minutes later when Ed Upson cracked an effort from distance and it beat Matthew Gilks in the visitors' net but came crashing off the crossbar and bounced to safety.

Ricardo Fuller had a late effort for the visitors as he turned on the volley but his shot went wide of the post. To make matters worse for Paul Ince, Kirk Broadfoot was sent off for a second bookable offence and Fuller soon followed with a straight red for violent conduct.

It was not over there for Blackpool as Gary Mackenzie was dismissed for his second yellow card as he brought down Ishmael Miller late on.
