Mercedes's Nico Rosberg will start tomorrow's Monaco Grand Prix from pole position.

Nico Rosberg has claimed pole position at the Monaco Grand Prix for the second year in a row.

The Mercedes driver finished ahead of teammate Lewis Hamilton, despite running off the track during the final minute of qualifying.

The 2008 world champion was pushing to catch the German, but had to slow down under yellow flags following Rosberg's error.

Red Bull locked out the second row, with Daniel Ricciardo finishing just ahead of Sebastian Vettel, while the Ferrari duo of Fernando Alonso and Kimi Raikkonen claim fifth and sixth respectively.

Felipe Massa appeared to have strong pace for Williams in the first session, but a collision with Marcus Ericsson towards the end of Q1 prevented him from competing for a place in the top 10.

Meanwhile, Toro Rosso's Daniil Kvyat, who is racing in Monte Carlo for the first time in his career, recovered from an early collision to start ninth, while teammate Jean-Eric Vergne claimed seventh.
