Jason Kokrak has recorded a final-round 65 to secure victory at the Houston Open, claiming his third success on the PGA Tour.

The American has endured a topsy-turvy period in Texas, moving towards the top of the leaderboard midway through the second round before plummetting 10 shots off the pace.

However, the 36-year-old impressed on Sunday, carding six birdies on a tough course to prevail by two shots.

Scottie Scheffler and Kevin Tway earned a share of second place, with fellow American Kramer Hickok a shot further back in fourth position.

Martin Trainer, the world number 1310 who has been in contention all week, bogeyed the final two holes to eventually finish in a tie for fifth.

England's Aaron Rai enjoyed another encouraging tournament in the United States, following a tied 15th at the Mayakoba Classic with a share of 19th. body check tags ::
