Ian Holloway launches a passionate tirade against the United Kingdom government for its handling of the Brexit crisis.

Ian Holloway has launched a passionate tirade against the United Kingdom government's handling of the Brexit crisis, insisting that the country must adopt a unified war-like attitude towards Europe.

New prime minister Boris Johnson has prorogued parliament and expelled 21 Conservative MPs, including 'Father of the House' Kenneth Clarke, in a bid to keep his promise of taking the UK out of Europe by October 31, deal or no deal.

In response, opposition MPs have voted in favour of a bill to make no deal legally impossible for Johnson ahead of an impending General Election.

Speaking to talkSPORT on the issue of Brexit, Holloway said: "Three years ago, whether we were right or wrong, we asked to get out.

"Why has it taken this long? Whatever you voted, our country is in a mess right now, so sort it out. All I'm seeing is selfish, selfish, selfish. For me, we're in a war. We're in a war with Europe. It needs to be almost a war situation where we have a coalition government to sort it out.

"I'd sack the lot of them. It's not about you, it's about us I'd give it to Simon Jordan and Tony Pulis, we'd all sort it out. My best mate, Phil Bater, I'd get him in as well."

Holloway's last managerial post came at Queens Park Rangers, who he left in 2018 after 18 months in charge.

The 56-year-old gained notoriety back in 2010 when he took Blackpool to the Premier League, bringing some colour to the division through a display of attacking football and amusing press conferences.
