The Ascot horse races, 2021 edition program

From Tuesday June 15 to Saturday June 19, Ascot Racecourse in London is set to host one of the most anticipated sporting events of the year. Royal Ascot is Britain's most valuable race meeting, attracting the world's best racehorses to compete for millions of pounds in prize money. About 500 horses run over the five days. Eighteen group races, including eight of Group 1, are organised each year and are broadcast to the public in nearly 200 territories around the world. The event is also eagerly awaited by bookmakers who meet each year to establish their best predictions in flat races. Here is an overview of the 2021 programme.

A Highly Anticipated Event Despite the Site's Reduced Capacity

Ascot attracts visitors from all over the world. It is the most famous horse competition in the UK and attracts the best racehorses and jockeys. The Queen has attended all race meetings during her reign (exception 2020) and takes part in the royal procession at the start of each race. Lasting five days, Royal Ascot is therefore a highly anticipated event. Although due to massively reduced capacities at UK sporting events it will be impossible for group tours to operate at Royal Ascot this year. The total daily capacity of the racetrack cannot exceed 4,000 customers. Therefore, only the Royal Enclosure and the Queen Anne Enclosures will be open. The rendezvous of British elegance par excellence, the Ascot horse races promise to be awe-inspiring, nonetheless. Usually each year the event attracts more than 300,000 people, an increasing number of visitors from all over the world, who too must adhere to the very strict dress code of the event.

The Opening of The Ticket Office Postponed

Due to the current uncertainty as to when Ascot Racecourse will be able to accommodate spectators, there are currently no ticket sales for Royal Ascot 2021. The official website is expected to communicate shortly to indicate the opening from its online ticket office. So get ready as places will be limited and sales success is already announced. Ticket prices for Royal Ascot vary depending on the day and venue you choose. If you decide to come, Ascot Racecourse is ideally located in beautiful wooded countryside next to the Windsor Great Park and around 50 minutes by car or train from London. This famous race is synonymous with elegance, so you will have to take out your best hat to attend!

The Programme of The Royal Ascot 2021

There is usually a royal procession around 1.30pm each day during the competition. These are four royal horse-drawn carriages that parade along Ascot's long racecourse and meet in front of the excited spectators. In 2020, the last race at Royal Ascot was around 4.40pm. each day. In previous years, the fun didn't stop there with the doors open until 8pm. In any case, with additional races added to the program, this year there will be seven races each day and eight races on Saturday. There will therefore be a total of 36 races throughout the event. Over the five days at Royal Ascot, there will be eight Group 1 races. With two Group 1 races on Tuesday and Friday, some bookmakers believe these will be the top two days, but with Ladies Day still being held on Thursday of Royal Ascot, this individual day will certainly make the headlines again! Some betting tips for the 2021 Royal Ascot meet are available online on specialised sites. Bettors often consult these platforms to stay up to date with the latest trends and the health of horses and the latest performance of jockeys.
