Luca Brecel - the current world champion - was O'Sullivan's opponent in the final and the Belgian played his part in a high-quality opening session.
Brecel hit a 81 break to move 2-1 ahead, either side of O'Sullivan making breaks of 95 and 94 of his own, before the Englishman ruthlessly took control after the interval.
O'Sullivan compiled breaks of 121 and 124 to seal a 5-2 win, with the sport's first venture to Saudi Arabia being viewed as a major success.
Mark Allen and Judd Trump were the losing semi-finalists, Allen going down 4-2 to Brecel and O'Sullivan overcoming Trump by a 4-1 scoreline. body check tags ::
