Tom Daley and Adam Peaty have both been named in Great Britain's squad for the upcoming World Aquatics Championships in February.

The event - which takes place in Qatar's capital city Doha from February 2 to 18 - will mark Daley's first major international appearance since the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

The 29-year-old - a three-time world gold medallist - won 10m synchro gold at the most recent Olympic Games alongside partner Matty Lee, but he took a hiatus from the sport following Tokyo.

However, Daley recently outlined his ambitions to compete at the Paris 2024 Olympics - which would be his fifth appearance at the Games - and he spearheads GB's diving team for February's World Championships.

The Doha tournament will serve as a qualifier for the next Olympics, and Daley is joined in the diving troupe by Tokyo 10m synchro partner Lee, as well as two-time Commonwealth and European champion Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix.

Daley won individual 10m gold at the 2009 and 2017 World Aquatics Championships, and the 29-year-old recently made his competitive comeback at the British National Diving Cup, winning the 10m synchro title with Noah Williams.

Meanwhile, eight-time world swimming champion Peaty is also due to compete in Doha following his own sabbatical, having opened up on his problems with mental health earlier this year.

Peaty pulled out of the British Swimming Championships in April and admitted to battling with "demons", but the 28-year-old affirmed that he still planned to compete at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Back in October, Peaty returned to the international stage at a World Cup event in Berlin, where he won the bronze medal in the 50m breaststroke competition and placed sixth in the 100m event.

Between 2015 and 2019, Peaty successfully defended his world 50m and 100m breaststroke titles on three occasions, but he was unable to take part in last year's World Championships owing to a foot injury.

The three-time Olympic gold medallist still holds the world records in the 50m and 100m breaststroke races, clocking 25.95 seconds in the former event at the 2017 worlds before a 56.88 run in the 100m in 2019.
