David Ferrer beats Janko Tipsarevic in the final round robin match of this year's ATP World Tour Finals, setting up a semi-final meeting between Andy Murray and Roger Federer.

David Ferrer has ended his ATP World Tour Finals campaign by beating Janko Tipsarevic in three sets.

The result means that British number one Andy Murray, who finished second in Group A, will face Roger Federer, who wins Group B, in the last four.

Both Ferrer and Tipsarevic began the match knowing that it would be their last of the tournament.

Juan Martin del Potro's win over Federer earlier in the day had ensured that the Argentinean and the Swiss would be the two players that progressed from Group B.

However, because of the players' respective points totals, sets differences and head-to-head records, it was tonight's match that would decide group order.

Federer required a Ferrer win in order to finish as group winner, while Tipsarevic was effectively representing Del Potro.

Tipsarevic made the perfect start to the match, storming into a 4-0 lead before sealing the opening set 6-4.

The second set then saw the players switch roles, as Ferrer raced into a 3-0 lead before clinching the set 6-3.

Ferrer's superior fitness, ability and temperament was clear for all to see in the decider, which the Spaniard won 6-1.

Del Potro will play Novak Djokovic in Sunday's other semi-final.
