Great Britain's run in the Davis Cup Finals came to an end on Tuesday evening, as Germany advanced to the semi-finals in Innsbruck.

After seeing off France and the Czech Republic in the group stage, Leon Smith's team prepared to meet Germany and got off to a flying start with Dan Evans beating Peter Gojowczyk 6-2 6-1.

However, GB were pegged back when Cameron Norrie went down 6-7 6-3 2-6 to an inspired Jan-Lennard Struff, who set up a deciding doubles encounter.

Joe Salisbury and Neal Skupski attacked from the front for GB as the first set went to a tie-break, and the German team of Tim Putz and Kevin Krawietz ultimately prevailed.

GB went 5-0 up in the second set tie-break but were pegged back to 5-5, and the Germans completed an astounding comeback to advance to the semi-finals thanks to a 7-6 7-6 doubles win.

Germany will now prepare to meet either Sweden or the Russian Tennis Federation in the final four, while GB continue to search for a first Davis Cup title since 2015.
