Rafael Nadal has progressed to the final of the Qatar Open after a three-sets victory over Germany's Peter Gojowczyk in Doha.
Nadal began the match slowly, allowing Gojowczyk to break his first service game on the way to opening up a 3-0 advantage. The Spaniard fought back to within a game of his opponent, but Gojowczyk broke for a second time to claim the first set 6-4.
World number one Nadal dominated the second set, breaking his opponent twice on the way to taking it 6-2.
The players traded early breaks in the deciding set, but it was Nadal who gained a two-game advantage as he broke serve for a second time in the third game.
The 13-time Grand Slam champion comfortably held his lead, wrapping up the final set 6-3 to secure his place in the final, where he will meet either Gael Monfils or Florian Mayer.
