The Arizona Cardinals have placed experienced outside linebacker John Abraham on their injured reserve list, effectively ending his season.
Abraham has enjoyed a long career so far in the NFL, with the back producing an impressive 133.5 career sacks, but given the concussion that has ruled him out for this season, he could now look to retire from the game.
The 36-year-old sustained concussion against the San Diego Chargers in week one, with the head injury thought to be the first of its type the player has suffered in his 15-year career.
Abraham has since been replaced by Drew Butler.
