Arizona Cardinals defensive end Calais Campbell is keen to face the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday despite suffering a back injury during Sunday's match.

Arizona Cardinals defensive end Calais Campbell has expressed his desire to face the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday despite being carted off the field with a back injury during Sunday's match against the San Francisco 49ers.

Campbell suffered a suspected bruised spine in a collision with Niners runner back Frank Gore in the fourth quarter of his side's 32-20 defeat and was attended to by medical staff on the field before being taken to hospital.

The injury was not as serious as first feared, and Campbell insists that he is already feeling good enough to play again and would have no qualms returning to the field for Thursday's match.

"I got up, and [it felt] kind [of] like a stinger feeling but it went all the way down to my feet. I feel pretty good [now]. A little sore. Any time after you get one of these, you're pretty sore on Mondays," Campbell told reporters.

"I feel pretty good now. Football's my life, I love it. I'm definitely looking forward to strapping it up and playing again.

"Football is a fun game. If you play it correctly, you can limit your injuries. I'm not really scared as long as I play the right way."

The Cardinals are currently joint-bottom of the NFC West with a 3-3 record, while the Seahawks top the division.
