Former New York Jets and Arizona Cardinals free safety Kerry Rhodes has not ruled out a return to the NFL.
Rhodes was a free agent for the 2013 season having turned down an offer to stay with the Cardinals in order to pursue other business ventures.
However, he insists that he is still interested in playing in the NFL again should a team come in for him and offer a deal that suits both parties.
"Every option for me is open, I haven't retired. It's about me staying ready to go, I would probably have to take a deal right now, but if an opportunity that's good for them and also good for me I would entertain it and want to come back and play," Rhodes is quoted as saying by ESPN.
"I still love football and it's still a part of me. That's not closed. But I'm not going to go into a situation where it's not beneficial to myself.
"Because with the things I'm doing now I feel pretty comfortable and confident. It's just what works best. But I definitely haven't closed that door yet."
Some reports have claimed that Rhodes was purposefully ignored by teams following rumours of his sexuality, but the 31-year-old does not believe that he was "blacklisted".
