Next year's Super Bowl XLIX will not be moved from the University of Phoenix Stadium, following a decision to veto an 'anti-gay' law.
Senate Bill 1062 would have allowed discrimination against gay men and women by business owners under the guise of religious freedom, and the NFL had previously issued a statement against the bill.
The league had not ruled out moving next season's finale match if the law had been passed by the state.
Arizona Governor Jan Brewer told reporters: "The bill could divide Arizona in ways we can not even imagine, and no-one would ever want. The bill had broad wording, which could have led to unintended consequences."
The home venue of the Arizona Cardinals last hosted the Super Bowl in 2008, when the New York Giants defeated the New England Patriots 17-14.
