Atlanta Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff has insisted that head coach Mike Smith will not be sacked despite his side's poor season.
The Falcons dropped to 2-7 in their campaign following their defeat to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, just months removed from playing in the NFC Championship game.
"Mike Smith is a hell of a football coach; he's the leader of this team," Dimitroff told ESPN. "Mike's going nowhere."
Smith has been with the Falcons since the 2008 season and has a 58-31 record with the team.
