Atlanta Falcons tight end Tony Gonzalez has been added to this season's Pro Bowl roster after Vernon Davis of the San Francisco 49ers pulled out.
Gonzalez was thought to have played his last ever game when the Falcons were beaten by the Carolina Panthers on December 29, ending a glittering career with a disappointing 4-12 season.
However, the 37-year-old will now get one more chance to lace up his boots as he makes his record-equalling 14th trip to the Pro Bowl in his 17th year as an NFL player.
"Thought I played my last game a few weeks ago. Decided I have one more in me. Heading to Hawaii tomorrow for the Pro Bowl!" Gonzalez revealed on Twitter.
Gonzalez, who recorded 1,325 receptions for an NFL tight-end record 15,127 yards and 111 touchdowns during his career, is already the all-time leader in Pro Bowl receptions (42) and touchdowns (6).
