Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a foot injury.
Jones picked up the injury during his side's 30-28 defeat to the New York Jets on Monday, although he was able to finish the game before receiving treatment.
The 2012 Pro Bowler got a second opinion on the injury earlier today before being told that he has a fracture in his foot that will require a season-ending surgery.
"Head coach Mike Smith says Julio Jones will have a season-ending procedure on Monday," read the Falcons' official Twitter feed.
The injury is the latest blow for the Falcons, who also have Kroy Biermann, Bradie Ewing, Sean Wetherspoon and Roddy White on the sidelines.
Smith's side currently occupy a disappointing third place in the NFC South, having won just one and lost four of their opening five matches.
