The Baltimore Ravens have announced that Dennis Pitta could still play a part in their 2013 NFL season.
The tight end was believed to be out for the year after dislocating and fracturing his hip during the Super Bowl champions' training camp.
This evening, the team tweeted: "[Head coach] John Harbaugh said that Dennis Pitta hasn't gone on [injured reserve] yet because they want to make sure he's actually done for the year first.
"When tests revealed Pitta did not have ligament or cartilage damage, it left some hope that he could return late this year."
Pitta had 669 receiving yards and seven touchdowns for the Ravens last season.
