Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh is confident that the injury suffered by running back Ray Rice during yesterday's match is not serious.

Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh has expressed optimism that the injury suffered by running back Ray Rice yesterday is not too serious.

Rice was taken off with 11:57 left in the fourth quarter of the Ravens' 14-6 win over the Cleveland Browns, having gone down with a hip injury despite not being hit during the play in question.

Harbaugh revealed that the 26-year-old was not due for an MRI scan and remains confident that he will not miss a significant amount of time with the injury.

"He might have gone down to protect himself, too," ESPN quotes Harbaugh as saying.

"That's just something that we'll have to see. We're confident and optimistic right now. We'll have to see tomorrow how he responds to that."

Rice ran for 36 yards on 13 carries before his injury, while replacement running back Bernard Pierce went 57 yards on 19 carries and also managed to pick up a touchdown.
