Steve Smith believes that he can become a good second wide receiver in Gary Kubiak's Baltimore Ravens offense.

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith has admitted that he would be happy to be the secondary wideout for his new club, but thinks that he can do a job in offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak's offense.

Smith, who will soon be 35, said that he admired the way that former Houston Texans receiver Kevin Walter complemented the main man Andre Johnson in Kubiak's offense when he was at the club, and is confident that he can play a similar role.

"I don't see myself in coach Kubiak's system like Johnson," Smith told the Ravens' official website. "I see the complementary dude of Walter. I see how he contributed and how he was instrumental in getting Andre the ball but also getting his own opportunities.

"Kubiak, I know his system. I've seen his system; I've seen the very creative ways they've gotten other guys the ball. I want to be a part of that. [Kubiak] used a lot of guys in his system, and I wanted to go into a system that I could be utilized but I could also benefit from other great players."

Smith spent his entire 13-year career with the Carolina Panthers until he joined the Ravens.
