The Buffalo Bills have reportedly decided to place their franchise tag on Jairus Byrd if they cannot agree a long-term contract extension with him.
The safety also spent last season playing under the tag, making 48 tackles, a sack, a forced fumble and four interceptions in the process.
NFL Media reports that the AFC East side will tag Byrd is they do not agree on a deal by March 3, the deadline for teams to use their franchise tags.
The Cleveland Browns have been linked to a move for the 27-year-old.
