Buffalo Bills head coach Doug Marrone has insisted that CJ Spiller's lack of action on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers was not due to an injury.
The 26-year-old was restricted to just eight carries and caught three passes in his side's defeat to Mike Tomlin's side as Fred Jackson saw the bulk of the work in the backfield.
"Game plan. How we're putting those guys in there," Marrone told the Buffalo News. "Doesn't have anything to do with his ankle."
The Bills are 3-7 in their season after week 10.
