Jeff Tuel has said that coming off the bench to make his regular season debut for the Buffalo Bills will help him improve as a player.
The rookie quarterback had to replace EJ Manuel after the starter picked up a knee sprain during the 37-24 defeat to the Cleveland Browns on Thursday.
The 22-year-old told the team's official website: "I'm going to continue to get better off of that more than anything, just by experience. There's obviously some plays I want back and some things I want to do better.
"I'm going to meet with Coach [Nathaniel] Hackett, watch the film and just get better. Any little thing I can do to get better I'm going to do it.
"In the beginning of the year, when I was called to start against the Patriots if EJ couldn't go, they assured me and said that they felt really comfortable with me. We'll meet with them and see what happens."
Tuel completed eight of his 20 attempts for 80 passing yards.
