Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler has praised the club's general manager Phil Emery for the work he did to bolster both the defense and offense this off-season.
Cutler said that Emery was well aware of what needed to be done to make the Bears more competitive for 2014 and he managed to do that with some successful business.
"He's doing a great job," Cutler told the club's official website. "Phil's always had a plan.
"You can trust him that he's always going to do the best possible thing for this football team and bring some guys in that are not only good people but are going to help us out on the field. He's given us some flexibility moving forward, and I'm excited to see what he wants to do next."
The Bears finished last season with an 8-8 record.
