Devin Hester has said that he is happy with the Chicago Bears' decision to use him exclusively as a kick and punt returner.
The 30-year-old was drafted in 2006 as a wide receiver, but has only recorded more than 500 yards in two of his seven seasons with the team.
Hester told WLS-AM: "I'm fine with it. It was kind of my idea to let me more focus on my kickoff and punt return thing. It was more of my idea to do it.
"My door is not closed on the offensive side of the ball. I'm still open to it. But as of right now, I know that I'm going here first into this season as the main kickoff return man. As of right now, that's my main focus, to get my swagger back."
Hester is the league's all-time leader in punt and kick return touchdowns, and has been named special teams player of the year three times.
