The Chicago Bears have appointed John Fox as their new head coach after parting ways with Marc Trestman at the end of the regular season.
Fox was named the new Bears coach just days after he mutually parted ways with the Denver Broncos following their loss in the divisional playoffs.
Fox interviewed with the Bears on Wednesday and has signed a four-year deal, according to NFL.com.
The Bears also interviewed former Buffalo Bills coach Doug Marrone, Teryl Austin, Adam Gase and Dan Quinn, but Fox emerged as the favourite for the role this week.
In Denver, Fox piled up a 46-18 regular-season record but will now have to work with a new quarterback in Jay Cutler.
