Unattached kicker Jay Feely has been signed by the Chicago Bears, following an injury to first-choice option Robbie Gould.
Gould tore his quadriceps muscle last week, being listed as doubtful for the upcoming game against the Dallas Cowboys.
The injury led to the Bears opting to move for Feely, who has been a free agent since his release by the Arizona Cardinals at the start of the campaign.
Feely successfully dispatched 30 of 36 field goals for the Cardinals last season, but lost his job to rookie Chandler Catanzaro in September.
In order to make room for the 38-year-old on their 53-man roster, the Bears elected to waive injured wide receiver Chris Williams.
