Cincinnati Bengals running back Giovani Bernard has been ruled out of Thursday night's divisional clash against the Cleveland Browns due to injury.
Bernard has struggled with both hip and shoulder issues which have forced him to miss practice all week, and although he has been listed as doubtful coach Marvin Lewis confirmed that he is sidelined, NFL.com reports.
The second-year running back's absence will mean rookie Jeremy Hill will continue to deputise for him and he will be looking to build on a 154-yard, two-touchdown off 24 carries performance against the Jacksonville Jaguars last week.
The Bengals are currently 5-2-1 for the season and sit top of the AFC North after winning back-to-back games to keep the Pittsburgh Steelers in second place.
Meanwhile, the Browns are third with a 5-3 record but all four teams in the division currently have a winning record with the Baltimore Ravens at 5-4.
