Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton has admitted that his side's playoff defeat to the San Diego Chargers last night "hurt".
Dalton committed three turnovers in the second half to help the Chargers to a 27-10 win at the Paul Brown Stadium, where the Bengals had previously been unbeaten this season.
It is the third year in a row that Dalton has underperformed in the playoffs, leaving himself with a 0-3 post-season record and figures of just one touchdown and six interceptions in those three matches.
"Whatever you do during the regular season doesn't matter once you get to the playoffs. It's disappointing. All the good stuff we did this year, then to come out and not win this game kind of hurts," Dalton told The AP.
Bengals coach Marvin Lewis also has a poor record in the playoffs having lost all five of his post-season matches.
