The Cleveland Browns will stand by young quarterback Johnny Manziel as he continues his treatment in rehabilitation this month.
Owner Jimmy Haslam spoke publicly about the situation after speculation linked the organisation with a move to draft Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota.
"I think it's way too early to give up on Johnny. We certainly haven't given up on him," Haslam told reporters, according to ESPN.
"I applaud him for raising his hand and saying 'I need help'. We're going to do everything we can to support him. Our primary interest is making sure that he gets well, if you will. Fixes himself."
Manziel had a troubled rookie season in the NFL which included a 30-0 shutout in his first start for the franchise, before entering rehab on January 28.
