Cleveland Browns owner Jimmy Haslam has criticised receiver Josh Gordon after he was suspended for the 2015 season for off-the-field incidents.
The NFL suspended Gordon again earlier this month for at least a year as he violated the league's substance abuse policy after he tested positive for alcohol.
"We spent a tremendous amount of time on Josh. At a certain point in time an individual has to take care of themselves and do what's right not just for themselves but for the team, the coaches, the people in the building, the fans," Haslam told the Plain Dealer.
"Josh has failed to accept that responsibility. I hope he can get his life together, he's immensely gifted."
The 23-year-old will sit out the entire 2015 season and has previously served a pair of suspensions after testing positive for marijuana which resulted in a 10-game ban to start the 2014 season.
